What Is the EDGE Expert Training?

EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies) is a globally recognized green building certification system developed by IFC, a member of the World Bank Group. The EDGE Expert Training Program is an intensive 8-hour course that equips construction and real estate professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to support projects pursuing EDGE certification. Upon successfully passing the EDGE Exam, participants earn the designation of EDGE Expert, becoming recognized advisors in sustainable building practices worldwide.

Course Coverage

To minimize environmental impact, FAMU Consultancy primarily delivers this program via live-streamed virtual sessions. You can join from your home or office, guided by an expert trainer in real time. Sessions are interactive — ask questions, collaborate with peers, and gain hands-on experience with the EDGE software.

IFC established the EDGE Expert designation as a specialized professional role within the EDGE green building certification ecosystem.

An EDGE Expert assists developers, owners, and project teams in understanding the EDGE standard, navigating the software, and preparing a complete application for EDGE certification.
Their scope includes green design advisory and end-to-end certification support.

5. How Do I Become an EDGE Expert?

Complete the mandatory 1-day EDGE Expert Training (online or in-person). Upon completion, IFC will send you an Exam ID to schedule your EDGE Expert Exam. Candidates who pass the exam are officially designated EDGE Experts and are listed in the IFC EDGE Expert Registry.
